The Lobster Ponds Haven offers a unique experience to view and learn about the Giant Freshwater Crayfish. These extraordinary creatures are the largest crustacean in the world and are exclusive to Northern Tasmania.

The viewing room with its tanks and pond enable visitors to get up close to the lobsters. Then enjoy the peaceful relaxing atmosphere of the outdoor ponds set within the native gardens as you learn about these extraordinary creatures.

We are located in the quiet farming community of Flowerdale, just 10 minutes drive from Wynyard.

Enjoy a tea or coffee and select from the homemade menu items as you overlook the picturesque landscape of the Flowerdale farmland.

To provide information and an educational experience about the endangered Freshwater Lobster, for schools, the local community and visiting tourists.
A place where students and volunteers can learn and develop skills in a hospitality environment, particularly in the area of land management and wildlife care, while also giving back to the community.
To provide a café that has a relaxing environment where the local community and tourists can enjoy casual dining, fundraising, social and corporate events.
